Word of the Day: usted, tú
Translation: you (formal) you (informal)
Pronunciation: oo-sthead, two

Most of you have no idea what movie this comes from. But you should because it’s the best movie EVER. Okay, maybe, like, the forth or fifth best movie ever.

William Holden (played here by Willy) and Alec Guinness couldn’t express the difference between usted and tú any better than in their scene in the final reel of the movie!

Except for the part about William Holden using the informal version of “You!” because he wants to cut Alec Guinness’s heart out (he was very mad.)

Mostly you use tú with friends but that’s okay because sometimes you want to kill them too.
